Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal Display Corp., has launched NovaJet, the first commercial system based on its Universal Vapor Jet Printing (UVJP) platform. Developed and built in Singapore, NovaJet is available to order and is intended for materials research, deposition process development and application validation before manufacturing scale-up. It deposits functional materials onto substrates including silicon wafers, glass, polymers and metals. “NovaJet is the first commercial realization of our Universal Vapor Jet Printing platform,” said Chandran Nair, Chief Executive Officer of UVJC. “As industries pursue increasingly advanced materials and device architectures, bridging the gap between innovation and manufacturing has become essential. NovaJet was designed to give researchers, engineers and manufacturers a highly flexible platform for advancing new materials, developing processes and accelerating the path toward commercial production.” UVJC showcased the system at last week’s WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Conference and Expo in Shenzhen, China. The display included coated substrates and printed samples produced on the company’s Singapore system, alongside a scale model of NovaJet. Deposition without solvents or masks UVJP enables digitally patterned deposition of functional materials without solvents, masks or conventional lithography. The dry process is designed to consolidate thin-film development steps on one platform, allowing users to investigate materials and optimize deposition processes. NovaJet is intended to help researchers and process engineers assess materials and applications in laboratory settings before moving to production. Once a process has been validated, UVJC can support its transfer to manufacturing through UVJP process and application intellectual property tailored to specific requirements. Depending on customer needs, production implementations may include larger-scale, automated or customized systems, including integrated, roll-to-roll and large-area configurations. Target applications Potential applications include semiconductor advanced packaging, perovskite solar technologies, biomedical and pharmaceutical products, surface-energy modification, and sensors and monitoring systems. The platform operates without heating the substrate, making it suitable for temperature-sensitive materials and non-planar surfaces. It can also deposit multiple materials and graded compositions in a single process step, according to UVJC. The company plans to demonstrate NovaJet at additional industry events, including the 2026 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit in Boston, Massachusetts, scheduled for December 1–4.
