Cincoze has introduced two external power protection modules designed to improve electromagnetic compatibility in industrial computing systems exposed to electrical interference. The Power Protection Module (PPM) series adds electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection to Cincoze industrial computers without requiring it to be built into the computer at initial purchase. The external design allows users to add protection based on site conditions and system requirements. The modules target electrical noise that can cause communication errors, signal disruptions, unexpected reboots and equipment downtime in industrial environments. The first two models are the PPM-I180, rated at 180W, and the PPM-I360, rated at 360W. Electrical fast transient (EFT) interference is a common EMC immunity challenge in industrial systems. Switching devices, relays and motors can generate fast electrical transients on power lines during operation, potentially disrupting industrial computers and connected peripherals. Cincoze said its PPM modules can suppress or filter EFT interference at the power input when used with compatible industrial computers. The company designed the solution to address testing requirements under EN/IEC 61000-6-2 and EN/IEC 61000-6-4, which cover EMC immunity and emissions for industrial environments, respectively. The PPM-I180 is intended for Cincoze’s entry-level and midrange rugged embedded computers in the DA, DC and DI series. The higher-power PPM-I360 is designed for the DV, DX and DS rugged embedded computer series, as well as the GM series of MXM GPU computers. Both modules use a slide-rail mounting design to simplify installation and connection to the computer. Their external configuration also allows users to add EMC protection to existing compatible systems rather than specifying it during the initial purchase. Cincoze plans to expand the PPM lineup to address EMC standards and certification requirements across different industrial sectors.
