Elektrobit and Microchip Technology Inc. are collaborating to provide pre-integrated AUTOSAR software for Microchip automotive platforms, aiming to reduce integration complexity and shorten development cycles for automotive manufacturers and suppliers. The collaboration gives customers access to Elektrobit’s AUTOSAR Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL) software through its EB tresos portfolio. The pre-integrated software is intended to help development teams establish a software foundation earlier and focus on application development rather than basic platform integration. The companies are also applying an automation-first approach to Classic AUTOSAR development. Elektrobit uses integration-as-code to convert repeatable integration tasks into reusable, executable logic, with the aim of improving development efficiency and enabling future AI-assisted software configuration. “By integrating Microchip automotive platforms with Elektrobit’s AUTOSAR expertise and tooling, we are helping customers streamline development and accelerate adoption of next-generation automotive architectures,” said Mark Reiten, Senior Corporate Vice President of Microchip’s licensing, memory products and intelligent compute business units. “Together, we are making it easier for developers to move from platform evaluation to production deployment.” The companies have enabled Elektrobit’s EB tresos AutoCore OS and EB tresos AutoCore Generic modules on Microchip’s SAMA5 series microprocessors. The solution is available for customer adoption, with support for additional Microchip platforms planned. “Automotive manufacturers are seeking ways to accelerate software innovation while reducing development costs and complexity,” said Jaganathan Rajagopalan, Vice President, Head of Strategy and Portfolio Elektrobit. “Our collaboration with Microchip combines proven automotive software foundations with ready-to-use hardware support, enabling customers to bring software-defined vehicle innovations to market faster and with lower integration risk.” Initial market activities will target automotive segments in Asia, including two-wheelers. The companies also plan to address broader automotive opportunities in Asia and North America.
